Caroline County elimination of all FRED bus service effective June 28, 2019.


The Caroline County Board of Supervisors at its May 14, 2019, meeting has decided to terminate all funding for FREDericksburg Regional Transit (FRED) bus service in the County effective with the start of Fiscal Year 2020 on July 1, 2019. The last day of FRED service will be Friday, June 28, 2019.

New Quantico VRE Feeder Service

First 2 Months FREE!


Beginning on, May 1, 2019, FREDericksburg Regional Transit (FRED) will start early morning and late afternoon feeder bus service between Aquia Towne Center, the north VDOT commuter lot off Route 610/Garrisonville Road and the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) station in Quantico, VA.

SmartBenefits - Increased Transit Benefits


Some of FRED's VRE feeder service riders have received an increased transit benefit of up to $255 per month (previously $130). This handout is a reminder about FRED’s participation in the SmartBenefits program and how our VRE feeder service customers can allocate a portion of their benefits to cover the cost of their tickets and/or monthly passes.
